I trust your partial fits now and is comfortable. It sometimes takes a short time before it feels good in the mouth.

Should a partial fit with the same amount of comfort on both sides? I just received my final partial (replacing #3, #5, #12, and #14, with metal palatal strap) and the left side feels *amazing* -- it "disappears" in my mouth so I hardly notice it. However, the right side is very noticeable even after two separate adjustment visits (~1 hr each). It's better, and not painful, but I have Sensory Processing Disorder (part of my autism) so I notice even the tiniest discomforts.

I have never worn a partial before so I have no comparison, nor do I know how a partial should fit/feel. However, shouldn't both sides be equally comfortable / feel the same? The right side feels like the clasp is bulkier/sticking out further into my cheek area than the left side, and some of the acrylic gum parts also feel bulkier, despite the technicians filed them down quite a bit yesterday. The technician said mouths are not symmetrical, and I understand that, but an analogy would be buying shoes: Each foot is shaped differently, but both shoes need to be equally comfortable and not have any "bulging" areas, etc.

I'm just finding it very difficult to explain things the correct way to my prosthodontist since I'm a layperson and not a dental professional, so I don't know all the "lingo". (I only know "palatal" and the tooth numbers because the dentist told me.) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
