Dr. Elizabeth Cranford Robinson highlights The Life House Women’s Shelter for Cranford Dental’s Year of Giving Back. This home provides a safe place to sleep, a warm meal, and guidance for women and children who are facing homelessness.
At Cranford Dental, 2021 is The Year of Giving Back! We have been blessed for many years by the support of Rock Hill, South Carolina. We want to give back and encourage others to support Rock Hill and York County.

Over the years we have given to local schools, dental and health clinics, and community organizations. This year, we will include our whole team in deciding where to give. Hopefully, we will all learn more about our town and its needs.
Why I Support The Life House Women’s Shelter
I met with my friend Courtney Denton, who organized and currently runs The Life House. She gave me a tour of the home and shared some of their current needs.
Homelessness is a real problem in Rock Hill. Courtney helped me realize that homelessness is usually not what we assume it to be. Sadly, it can affect anyone, for any number of reasons.
The homeless woman does not choose to be homeless.
I was happy to see a warm and safe place for women to go when they need assistance. And I was impressed by how organized and intentional The Life House is.
Though it has only been running for a few months, The Life House has already blessed a good many women in our community. I am glad I can be part of blessing even more women in the future.
Cranford Dental’s Plan for Giving Back
Each month, one of our employees will pick a local organization that means something to her. At our monthly staff meeting, she will tell us about her charity and her passion for it. She’ll be able to tell us tangible needs that we may help meet.
Cranford Dental will give a monetary donation in that staff member’s honor. We will also see if there are other ways we can help-or encourage others to help.
Our staff members are passionate about serving others. The Year of Giving Back will allow us to help them give to and promote the charities they care about.

How Will January’s Gift Help?
Courtney Denton used our donation to purchase mattresses for one of the upstairs bedrooms. Obviously, the needs at this home are great. The home currently houses up to 12 women.
I am happy to be part of helping other women in Rock Hill have a comfortable place to sleep at night. And glad that the shelter will have enough beds to meet the needs of the homeless in 2021.
What does Dr. Robinson’s charity tell us about her?
Dr. Robinson believes in supporting other women. She appreciates the coaches, teachers, and friends who helped her along the way. In fact, she would never have made it without them.
This is a great way for women to help women.
The mother of three children, Dr. Robinson wants every child to have a mom who feels safe and secure. And children need a warm bed to sleep in at night.
This shelter directly benefits children in our community.
Rock Hill is home to Dr. Robinson. Thus she wants her community to be the best possible place to live for everyone. Therefore she chose a charity that will directly help her patients, friends, and others in need.
The shelter will benefit every person who lives in Rock Hill as we help the less fortunate.
In summary, Dr. Robinson chose The Life House Women’s Shelter because she is a Rock Hill woman (and once little girl). She knows the shelter will help girls and women most in need in her town.
